Encoding mathematical and scientific formula with LaTex

Transcribers can describe formulas using the LaTeX markup language; that markup is converted to an image embedded in the "overview" tab of the page.

LaTeX markup should be wrapped in {{tex:    :tex}} so that FromThePage can process the markup.

Try it out by pasting the following into the transcription tab and saving the page.

{{tex: $-b \\pm \\sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} \\over 2a$ :tex}}

The results should be:

FromThePage currently supports the following XeLaTeX packages:

  • amsmath
  • amsfonts
  • egpeirce
  • xymtex
  • chemfig
